[LOCKED TO DEPARTMENT OF ENMA] Voice; UN: jsarchivist
[The voice that speaks is English, posh, and sounds utterly exhausted and done with everything at the moment. Still a pleasant voice to listen to though. Could read a phone book and make it sound nice.]
I have, against all better judgment, been tasked with welcoming the new members to the Department of Enma.
Welcome. [It sounds less like an actual welcome and more "this is scripted and I am required to say the word 'welcome' somewhere in this."] This faction is for city departments with most of you being funneled directly into the law enforcement branch whether you like it or not. There is, unfortunately, no direct way to transfer out of this department until you have been part of the system for several weeks and even then it is not a guarantee. And that alone is a frustrating process. However, there are other departments within this building that you can find work in, such as the legal department if that is more your particular specialty.
The department is given the great burden of trying to keep order in the City amongst the other factions. It's a futile effort given the amount of problems that arise, but nonetheless you will be expected to assist in times of need. If you find the Department does not pay enough for your living expenses, I've been told you are welcome to get a second job. There is also provided assigned living quarters that are borderline adequate that you are still paying for yourself.
My name is Jonathan Sims. I work in the records and archives department. I will not answer your questions, however, superior officer Lieutenant Julieta Juris will be more than happy to answer any questions anyone has. She is experienced and has been here for some time now. I can provide directions and her office hours if new recruits need.
[Is he throwing Julieta under the bus?
Maybe so. Maybe next time don't voluntell him to do this after you argue with him over whether or not being dead is an “excuse” to “give up” working in a department he hates from the outset and just accept his transfer request the first time.]
We are currently investigating a kidnapping that happened at the most recent festival. We have some leads as to the whereabouts, but are still looking into some details.
I suppose that's everything. Good luck. Again, I will not answer your questions, but please feel free to direct all inquiries to Superior Officer Lieutenant Julieta Juris.
[ooc; Open to all Enma folks, threadjack, go wild!]

He seems to be staring at the scrawny lil nerd presenting with a beatific expression? Oh yes. That there is a lovesick face.
Anyway, he is very quiet and fond throughout the presentation. He only puts down the box he's holding at the end, when he gives Jon a gentle round of applause. ]
Ah, that's a nostalgic feeling. I might like this faction after all.

Hi, Jonathan. Thank you for the welcome. And Lieutenant Juris, thank you in advance for your availability for any questions.
My name is Kim Wexler. I'm a defense attorney from Albuquerque, New Mexico. [A brief pause for a thing that feels strange to say:] Circa June 2004. My area of practice is public defense but I have ten years of experience with major firms specializing in corporate law and banking law. I am looking forward to getting to work where I am best suited. [Implied: not the physical end of law enforcement.]
As for questions, I'd like more details on the Department's intended plan for what to do in the kidnapping case. Is a formal rescue mission likely at all? Regardless, does the Department have a particular stance on vigilantism?

The screen shows a young man with brown hair that spikes in a few directions. It doesn't look like the type of hair that's ever going to lie flat. He looks tired, but also confused. It's been a time.]
It sounds like we're just herding cats.
[Which, he is, uniquely qualified for in some ways]
Also are there maps and stuff to where everything is? I'm a little lost.

Sorry about the introduction, I offered to do it but I think he was being forced. He's actually a pretty nice guy, he's just grumpy right now. (︶^︶)
That being said, I'm more than happy to help any new recruits! I have experience with protection and keeping order in the kingdom, and I'd be glad to share my knowledge! Lieutenant Julieta is very good at her job, but if she is busy with something, I'll be sure to try and find you whatever answers you are looking for!

[The accent is curt, obviously English.]
You don't seem all too confident in the Enma, I must say. Though now that I'm here, I'll lend my talents and skills where needed. How many details do we have regarding this kidnapping, exactly? Vague bits? Specific details?

Kisara has had some very bare-bones information provided to her, but this is a good opportunity for her to get to know some of the people she'll be working with. Maybe this is the point at which self-introduction is in order.
Old habits die hard and she provides a salute, folding an arm across her chest.]
I have a little history with this already from my home world where I was appointed the captain of the guard for a lord and his region, though it's more probable I have more experience with beast extermination.
I understand we've been tasked with something of an undertaking. It's never easy to keep order, but what we do is important in keeping things operating smoothly.
I've only just arrived, but if there's assistance needed with the kidnapping in question, I'd like to volunteer my services.

Wonderful, Jonathan Sims. Maybe you should handle this from now on?
[He's not laughing out loud, but his smile tells all. He have some self-control when it counts.]
Hello, everyone. I'm Inspector Ichimonji Norimune, but simply Norimune is fine with me. I'm with the law enforcement department, so chances are you'll likely see me around if you work on the field. This old man looks forward to getting to know all of you and working together.

[ that certainly was an enlightening spiel, wasn't it. luchino himself is smiling courteously, the edges of an italian accent plucking at his words. whether that smile reaches his eyes fully is another question entirely. ]
My thanks for the warm welcome. My name is Luchino Diruse.
Besides the legal department and law enforcement, what exactly are the other departments we could perhaps assist with? I don't mind accepting wherever I've been put, but as a scientist and a professor, my specific expertise is more...research, fieldwork and teaching. I'm certain I'd be more of use to the task at hand dealing with such things.
[
dont say experimentation dont say experimentationa momentary pause, for that to digest. ]Is there also, perhaps, any more information pertaining to the situation and wasteland itself? Or shall we be waiting for a more formal addressing of it?
