[LOCKED TO DEPARTMENT OF ENMA] Voice; UN: jsarchivist
[The voice that speaks is English, posh, and sounds utterly exhausted and done with everything at the moment. Still a pleasant voice to listen to though. Could read a phone book and make it sound nice.]
I have, against all better judgment, been tasked with welcoming the new members to the Department of Enma.
Welcome. [It sounds less like an actual welcome and more "this is scripted and I am required to say the word 'welcome' somewhere in this."] This faction is for city departments with most of you being funneled directly into the law enforcement branch whether you like it or not. There is, unfortunately, no direct way to transfer out of this department until you have been part of the system for several weeks and even then it is not a guarantee. And that alone is a frustrating process. However, there are other departments within this building that you can find work in, such as the legal department if that is more your particular specialty.
The department is given the great burden of trying to keep order in the City amongst the other factions. It's a futile effort given the amount of problems that arise, but nonetheless you will be expected to assist in times of need. If you find the Department does not pay enough for your living expenses, I've been told you are welcome to get a second job. There is also provided assigned living quarters that are borderline adequate that you are still paying for yourself.
My name is Jonathan Sims. I work in the records and archives department. I will not answer your questions, however, superior officer Lieutenant Julieta Juris will be more than happy to answer any questions anyone has. She is experienced and has been here for some time now. I can provide directions and her office hours if new recruits need.
[Is he throwing Julieta under the bus?
Maybe so. Maybe next time don't voluntell him to do this after you argue with him over whether or not being dead is an “excuse” to “give up” working in a department he hates from the outset and just accept his transfer request the first time.]
We are currently investigating a kidnapping that happened at the most recent festival. We have some leads as to the whereabouts, but are still looking into some details.
I suppose that's everything. Good luck. Again, I will not answer your questions, but please feel free to direct all inquiries to Superior Officer Lieutenant Julieta Juris.
[ooc; Open to all Enma folks, threadjack, go wild!]

[ He's teasing; he assumes Jon has no intentions of that. ]
no subject
[He's Right.]

[He's earnest in a way he was when asking Martin to run with him that first time. Out of practice being alone here for a few months, and a Martin that's lost no time at all.]
So. Don't feel in such a rush to 'make things up' to me. As far as I'm concerned, there's not.
no subject
Then my first shared task as your new flatmate. Officially.
no subject
Fine. Not like I can stop you or anyone else.
no subject
Well. No. But. I hope you'll let me anyway?
no subject
I will, Martin. Of course I will. I'm happy with whatever you'd like to do.
no subject
Good. Ah. Need me to help with packing your things?
no subject
[What is in here is a bunch of research, familiar looking handwriting on notepads carefully organized and sorted for now, folders and files, along with all of Andy's work as well.]
Come on.
no subject
[ Not that Jon doesn't deserve it! Just, his luck. ]
no subject
Yes, it's a superior officer's. She lets me use her office sometimes when she's out. It's... quieter.
no subject
Fewer interruptions?
no subject
[Yeah, turns out the Ceaseless Watcher's Special Boy still doesn't like all the attention on himself.]
What is in the box, anyway?
no subject
[ He hitches the box up a bit. ]
Vegetables, mostly. I took the little stipend they give you start out with and found a market selling them for cheap.
no subject
He'll walk him to the main area t his desk, which is a much more familiar kind of mess.]
Hoho. And what did you have in mind?
no subject
Bit of stir-fry, I think. There's a bag of rice in here too. Oh - and some sort of flavour packet? They had a wall of them at the supermarket.
no subject
I see. I haven't ventured too far out of more bland foods yet. Still not sure what it'll do to my system after this long. But I'm willing to try.

[Reaching to just barely touch his fingers to Martin's elbow. Not obvious, but familiar enough.]
no subject
I hope you know how hard it is not to just scoop you up right now.
