[ LOCKED TO SHUTEN CLAN ] video | un: majima
[ Your current Shuten Clan Lost Soul lieutenant is here with an important PSA for this unruly bunch. Majima is sitting in one of the Shuten family offices. ]
All right... [ He seems kind of exasperated off the bat. ] Listen, chinpira. There is a dress code an' we're gonna be enforcin' it.
When ya are on th'clock for Toraguma: ya need to look right.
Black slacks, long-sleeve shirt with buttons an' a collar. An' one of these.
[ He holds up a shiny little lapel pin, it has the kanji for Shuten on it. ]
We have 'em at th'offices if ya don't have one yet.
Your shirt can be any ugly pattern ya like, or it can be plain. Tie or no tie, jacket or no jacket. If ya need help with a tie, ask somebody.
Shirts an' slacks have t'be ironed. For anyone who doesn't know how t'iron a shirt, I'll come by th'Shuten housing an' show ya as a group.
Yes, this is what Toraguma expects. Yes, I will straighten ya out [ Read: Beat ] if ya buck me on this.
Other Shutens need t'be able t'recognize ya an' we don't want ya mistaken for a colors gang with th'Enma comin' down on them.
[ He looks at someone off camera to see if he's forgotten anything. Majima mutters fuck quietly. ]
An' shine your shoes.
[[ ooc; majima says he will fight over this but uh... only if you want to... like feel free to ignore this whole thing. I'm not the cops 8V ]]
[[ eta; if you do want to fight about it, you can reach out to
meowjima,
heretic_blade, or
pitfight. Depending on who you want to get into it with. They're also on hand to help you get dressed up too. ]]
[[ also yes definitely threadjack away, go ham. ]]

I don't get the impression he's the kind of guy who'd demand that. Should you really be demanding it on his behalf?

Got it. I wasn't aware we had a specific lapel pin, I'll come pick one up soon. Does the type of jacket matter?
[A beat.]
Do this many people not know how to iron?
no subject
[ Probably because Toraguma told him to babysit everyone and Majima finally went fine. ]
It's a suit jacket, somethin' that matches yer slacks. Mostly just depends on th'weather though, nobody wears that shit when it's hot.
[ As for ironing... His head tips back tiredly a little. ]
S'the first thing ya get taught when you're trainin': how t'iron oyaji's shirt right. Just used t'havin' to teach new guys.

action;
It all seems a little pointless, still. I get why the badge is important, but everything else feels like it's bound to cause wasteful conflict.
[ And yet, he was dressed exactly as Majima said he should. Without a bike, there wasn't much point in still wearing biking gear.
... He kind of wished he could still get away with a cravat. ]

Normally don't gotta tell guys this stuff, they wanna dress like their oyaji.
[ Says the man who speaks with a fake accent because his patriarch was Kansai. ]

I only arrived in this city with geta sandals. If anyone can recommend a shoe store, I would be in your debt.
no subject
[ It's the yakuza, they'll remember that debt but they do want everyone dressed properly so they've got funds for it. ]

Or are you saying this from the perspective that yer just biased and think all patterns are ugly?

There's a chart in th'family office of who's what rank, by the way. We usually just check it an' memorize it, back home.

This dress code doesn't seem fit for a proper lady, now, does it?

I would like to request an exception to the uniform policy.
The traditional clothing I wear makes it easier for me to conduct my work. Nobody would take me seriously if I dressed like that.
