All right... [ He seems kind of exasperated off the bat. ] Listen, chinpira. There is a dress code an' we're gonna be enforcin' it.

When ya are on th'clock for Toraguma: ya need to look right.

Black slacks, long-sleeve shirt with buttons an' a collar. An' one of these.

[ He holds up a shiny little lapel pin, it has the kanji for Shuten on it. ]

We have 'em at th'offices if ya don't have one yet.

Your shirt can be any ugly pattern ya like, or it can be plain. Tie or no tie, jacket or no jacket. If ya need help with a tie, ask somebody.

Shirts an' slacks have t'be ironed. For anyone who doesn't know how t'iron a shirt, I'll come by th'Shuten housing an' show ya as a group.

Yes, this is what Toraguma expects. Yes, I will straighten ya out [ Read: Beat ] if ya buck me on this.

Other Shutens need t'be able t'recognize ya an' we don't want ya mistaken for a colors gang with th'Enma comin' down on them.

[ He looks at someone off camera to see if he's forgotten anything. Majima mutters fuck quietly. ]

[ A less stubborn person would have acknowledged the inanity of this already. But maybe by the end of this Felix will think this was unreasonable (well, actually, unfortunately not.)

Felix simply tilts his chin upwards, giving Majima a challenging look. ]

Let's get this over with.

[ With no fanfare, Felix will start first, approaching the man, and then try to aim a kick low towards the side of one of the other's legs, hoping to trip him up. ]

[ Honestly, it's not even that unusual. When Majima was 18, he was the same kind of annoying; if a little less dour than Felix. It's pretty standard for the yakuza to establish their pecking orders with violence. He's ready, if not particularly amused.

One of Majima's more irritating abilities is how purely nimble he is, something quickly demonstrated with how quickly he's willing to roll despite the strike to the leg and simply pop up somewhere else. His second most irritating ability is his stamina: once the combo string starts, it doesn't stop for many rounds of punches and kicks. When he twists and pivots the heavy muscle of his scaled tail hits hips and legs.

His goading is sneering, ]

[ Felix is known for his own speed, so it is irritating when he has to contend with that from someone else. Bluntly put, still young and talented in combat as he is, he hasn't exactly gone against someone who would be able to provide a decent challenge. Those blackguards who caused a ruckus do not count, for certain.

He manages to block or guard a couple of the swings, but not all of them, given the bruises that are already forming from the constant slew of hits and the nimble dodging around, not to mention the tail.

Stubbornly, he presses forward regardless. ]

That's exactly the point.

[ Felix will go for a feint with a punch of his own towards the man's side, only to draw back, swinging a kick to attempt to land a harsh blow to Majima's stomach. ]

[ Majima's annoyance melts into genuine enjoyment to just be fighting. There are times when he truly feels that fighting is all he's good for, it brings him some peace to just sink in to it and let his thoughts quiet in favor of the purely physical.

He is a street fighter, so his tactics are efficient and brutal. Honestly, it doesn't matter who wins. As long as Felix presses forward in earnest, he's earned some of Majima's respect. ]

[ Felix also eventually finds himself getting more into the fight, and enjoying it. At the end of the day, the swordsman enjoys combat, perhaps more than most, though despite his difficult attitude this is perhaps one particular trait shared by him and others in Shuten. ]

Hmph. I suppose you might not just be all talk after all.

[ ...And he can't help but notice when someone holds quite the skill in battle. Felix definitely has continued to pressed on with every single bit of effort he has. He has been taught by instructors, but he also incorporates moves he has witnessed on the battlefield, so he doesn't pull his punches nor does he make anything unnecessarily showy. By the end of it, he is feeling exhausted, all sweaty, perhaps going to face the loss by a small margin, by a loss nonetheless.

But, he will accept it with grace. ]

...I'll follow along, for now. [ He can probably get his own symbol emblazoned somewhere on the wear. He'll be doing some shopping soon, anyway. ] But, I'll see you for another spar sometime and not just because we're disagreeing on something.

[ Maybe it's more obvious now why both of them are in Shuten, this was about the most typical exchange they could have had. Majima's not mad about it. ]

[ The last thing he has to say about the dress code. He'll leave it at that. He motions over towards the water coolers and heads that way himself. ]

[ It certainly is. Felix doesn't respond to the second comment, even if he might believe that by now.

Regardless, the black-haired male follows him over to the coolers, so at least he's not against that. But, all the same, he has nothing else to say, not exactly the best at smalltalk, nor good at it. So soon enough, after getting some water he'll give a rough nod to acknowledge Majima before turning on his heel, and leaving him be. ]

[ He watches after Felix quietly. You get to know people a let better by fighting them. Or at least that's how it works in his own life. He has a better measure of this is, and what his values are. It's something Majima can work with. ]
