The upcoming Σ(*ﾉ´>ω<｡`)ﾉ BEACH PARTY!! ヽ(´ω｀○)ﾉ.+ﾟ*｡:ﾟ+ is a manner of social gathering I am not familiar with.

My attempts to research have led to such a wide range of activities and manners of dress¹ that I'm unsure what to expect or how to prepare.

So,

What are my fellow Lost Souls wearing to this affair-?
Can one arrive over-dressed to such an occasion-?²

Insight would be greatly appreciated.

¹Researching "beach fashion" largely results om what I can charitably describe as wet lingerie.³
²It seems coming under dressed is nearly impossible.
³Not that I'm complaining.

Gloves would only make it harder to swim, or form sand sculptures, I imagine...though, I've never built one myself, so I could be wrong. I do intend to try at this party though!

There probably won't be any bugs or crabs or fish to catch, but that's probably for the best for most people, even if it's a little disappointing to me...I just hope there's enough of a breeze inside of a building to fly a kite! That and a picnic are a must-have in summer!

Picnics are a fine Springtide pass time. I will need prepare an appropriate one if they are apt to have at the beach![food food food- Ydris is a god of a world in which all magic has flavor. Food is the cornerstone of most events and social gatherings. They will need to bring something nice along to share...]

Kites are a bad omen. Do people fly kites for fun? I suppose, without Armis... there is no danger in it.

Oh, no, no! Kites are auspicious here! They ward away bad spirits, signal for battles, and protect from disasters. Where I live, we even have a special kite that scares away demons and protects the air, but you can also battle one another with them!

Usually around this time of year shops will have kits so that you can paint your own kite. I need to explore around more and find some. With Bero-kun there, there's even less need to worry about your 'Armis'!

Curious, indeed. Armis is the Dragon of Wind and a troublesome bastard, a hydra with two heads. Kites are hung out of town and when they fly, it is a warning. Broken free of their tethers, it is a threat of his approach.

Using them for amusement is intriguing, you'll need to show me, if we are able to fly them within the building.

[there's gotta be some kind of a circulation system, right? It'll get real stagnant if not. Maybe it won't be "windy" enough for kite flying, though...]

If not this time, there are rooftop gardens around Sutoku Territory that get above the skyline. Perhaps that would work as an alternative.

Bero-kun's design is based on a motley depiction of several wind gods, if I'm remembering right...sometimes people will use a long streamer for his 'tongue'. It's all in good fun, but it also keeps things playful between us and the kami. Gods of wind and sea are stronger by coastal regions; I grew up in the mountains, so I can only imagine the strife of having a wind deity being cruel like that...

Flying a kite atop of a building...that sounds so modern!! But that would work really well for showing you how to fight kites, if this 'indoor ocean' doesn't. I may not be the best kite fighter ever, but I'm certainly better than most people in Aizu!!

How does one fight with kites-? Do you attach razors to them and try to cut the other apart or free?

Usually you just try to swoop and crash them in to one another- whoever's hits the ground first loses! Tangling up the strings isn't sportsmanly though. I used foil wrappers on a kite once to make it reflect sunlight and be harder to look at! ｡･:⭐:･ﾟ

Alright, you've convinced me. This sounds like good fun. If not at the beach, then we'll plan a rooftop picnic.

[Minakami's at the door, a carefully blank look on his face, phone in hand.]

[ Tama is halfway through typing another obscenely long string of sparkly kaomoji bullshit when he looks up, goes to get the door. Cocks his head at Minakami, and searching him for groceries or the like, his own phone still in hand. ]

'Do you have a moment' like you don't already know I don't do anything...what do you need?

[Face to face, even with Minakami's practiced stoicism, the blood is rushing to his face.]

I met a friend of yours.

[He holds up the phone, with Ydris's responses highlighted on the screen.]

[ At first, he doesn't understand- even if his glasses are performative, he still puts them down on his face and squints at the screen like a grandparent trying to read fine print.

It doesn't take long to recognize the username and the subsequent message. ]

[ Words are now his enemy. He's been betrayed by the very art he's carefully cultivated his entire life. No story or charming effort is going to help, so instead he swats and grabs for Minakami's phone like he can just throw it out the window and be done with it. ]

[He holds the phone over his head out of reach, which is not very far.]

[He looks at the ceiling, straining to keep his composure, belatedly thinking doing this in-person may not have been a good idea.]

I don't think you can blame this on Kawase anymore.

[ Tamamori is not a proud person. He is a gremlin person. As such, he is willing to jump to try and snatch the phone, and when that fails, hang himself off Minakami's arm in a very ill-advised attempt to use his best friend's height against him. It won't work, he's just making a scene, and by all the gods hopefully poor Kim is out of the building for this one. ]

[As Tamamori is screaming about casting aspersions and hanging off of Minakami's arm like a weird little lemur, Matoba walks by with his day's shopping and casts him a pitiful look.]

[He makes eye contact with Minakami, withering--]

[The door clicks shut behind him.]

[ THIS IS THE WORST DAY OF HIS LIFE ACTUALLY? ]

[For some reason he didn't expect Tama to actually jump at him and dangle on like a macaque. He's not going to literally shake him off (like the absent third member of this circus would) and there's not enough room in the entranceway to turn and close the door behind them, so Minakami is just. Kind of stuck here, one arm up and bracing backwards to keep his balance while holding Tama's weight.]

[From how he's clutching the phone, he's probably sending a random stream of gibberish over in the convo window with Ydris, but that's the least of anyone's concerns right now.]

[Minakami freezes in silent horror when Matoba walks by, cutting that sentence off much, much too late.]

He's not making any money off of this circus and he's going to die in real life forever if Kim or Kimm show up so he's just going to use his hanging dramatics to yank Minakami in to his damn room before this gets any worse for either of them.
