Subject: "Beach Party"


All Officers of the Department of the Enma will be sharing shifts on life-guard duty for the "Beach Party" event hosted by the Sutoku Alliance, per request of the Daitengu. Shifts will last no more than two (2) hours each, and compensation will come in the form of free access to all food and drink.

How the hell can anyone trust you if you're gonna look down on them for shit that they can't control?

We're not meant to trust one another.

I'm in the Shuten Clan. You're in the Department of the Enma. We're not allies, and are in fact going to be enemies based on the fact that you represent the "law" and I operate with a known "criminal organization".

We're not in this together. We might both be concerned with fulfilling out contracts, but that does not make us the same, nor does it make us friends.

That's the truth of things here, isn't it? Whether or not you personally agree with it doesn't make it less our practical reality.

Your leader is going to ask you, some day, to arrest or execute someone from another faction in the name of Order. You won't be able to fulfill your contract, otherwise. Refusal will only end in your own destruction. In following that order, you're going to prevent someone else from fulfilling their contract, whether by putting them in jail, or killing them.

You can say you don't care all you want, but not caring doesn't change things.
