To: All Lost Souls representative of the Department of the Enma

It has come to our understanding that an invitation to attend the grand opening of Sai no Kawara, a joint venture of the Shuten and Tamamo clans.

Our investigation into illicit "Stardust" trade has made it imperative that we accept this invitation, and attend as keepers of Order and to assure that all dealings are "above level".

Representatives of the Department of the Enma will be allowed participation in Tanabata festivities including, but not limited to; wish-making, consumption of alcoholic beverages, moderated gambling, sessions with hosts and other service workers, and dancing.

Considering the situation we found ourselves earlier in the summer, it has been advised that relaxation and diversion may be necessary to assure a functional work force. Therefore it should be considered part of your work to attend this "grand opening", both as a keeper of Order and as a matter of personal activity.

So a hypothetical then:
Should the worst happen, and something horrible break out at this event. Almost, if not all, officers are inebriated and not at their best and need to respond.

What then?

Why, we adapt and deal with this horrible, horrible event. We'll get public outrage and criticisms, but that will never stop us from doing our jobs.

[As much as the lower ranks get the brunt of the questioning and criticisms, he never got the impression the department have any plans to actively improve their public image.

He's aware of how he's answering this, but this is a public post and he doesn't feel like typing up serious words right now.]

And I doubt all of us will be drunk. There's a number of non-drinkers among us.

So you don't actually care about how the department is viewed in favor of your actions speaking louder.

That isn't a criticism, to be clear. Merely an observation.

While it might be nice if everyone think well of us, it shouldn't cloud our duty. Unless you, in general, are prepared for that and the possible troubles.

Back home, my old workplace didn't care as long we fulfil our roles.
