[Sannan is dressed fairly formally, in Western clothes with two swords at his hip, so he looks sort of... official. Which might make this come off as way more passive-aggressive or official than is entirely intended. I mean, it's intended to be passive-aggressive, considering he is how he is, but he'll say the following with an utterly pleasant, head-tipped, eyes somewhat closed smile.]

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Sannan Keisuke, a recent arrival. I have been given the privilege [the way he says privilege tho] of joining the ranks of the Department of the Enma. I'm quite unfamiliar with this sort of technology, so forgive me if I do something incorrectly.

[He shifts slightly.] To the point then. I, and several of my fellow new arrivals, have been experiencing difficulty acquiring information about certain aspects of our duties. It must also be noted that fellow Lost Souls who shall remain nameless, but who report to other factions, have been greeted with information about rules, regulations, leadership, and even dress codes.

One wonders, then, if there are any such requirements for our faction. This is merely a personal inquiry, as I have little desire to pin any one person to responsibility they do not wish to hold. Therefore, if someone with more tenure and experience could see fit to enumerate upon such things for those of us newly arrived, I will gladly facilitate dissemination of such information to fellow newcomers, and alleviate any burden upon those already far busier than myself.

Thank you for your time, and for your efforts which have preceded our arrival. We will all assuredly do our utmost to do honor to the tasks set before us. [Thinking back. To arrival. And sharks.] No matter how interesting they may be.

The conflict between factions is what concerns me. It takes only a small spark to start a fire in such conditions, but with moderate hands and heads around, perhaps we at least won't be a cause.

[He makes a quiet, unassuming sound, somewhere between amusement and apology.] I don't intend to pry. I'm simply wondering what your experience is, prior duties or situation--as is relevant to this, and this alone.

I see. Versatility is good to have, then. I'll keep that in mind. Fortunately, I shouldn't have any trouble, whether my duties are clerical or more public-oriented. I would hope for something that doesn't have me languishing all day long, but that's a wish, not a necessity. Peacekeeping and seeing to helping others will be a pleasant change from my recent prior situation.

[He smiles.]

Of course. It's the least any of us can do, and it benefits me as well.

Nevertheless, it was you, so you'll have to accept my gratitude. It's fortunate that we ended up in the same faction, so I can hopefully repay that.

The welcome being belated doesn't bother me. We're getting the information we need, so that shows our initiative more than it indicates anything else. Rest assured, we're quite all right.

Thank you for the welcome, and the information you've gained from firsthand experience. It doesn't sound like a terrible job, so I'll be glad to do it. Let's hope mild peacekeeping and assisting others is the most trouble we have for a while.

There is a lot to learn here, for some of us. The technology isn't what I'm used to, either, so I've been having an interesting time. Then again, I don't mind technology and the like, old-fashioned as I may be to some.

There has been discussion of compiling something for future newcomers. I think that's for the best, as it takes pressure and duties off already busy ranked officers.

It's good to meet you, Bulleta. And your skillset. May I ask: do you mean that in an investigative sense, or a more... shall we say, aggressive sense?

I held a sufficient enough rank to command squads in combat excursions, as well as to act moderately independent at times in regards to carrying out operations - including the assigning and oversight of officers assigned to me. I just had a feeling reaching out on behalf of my fellow arrivals would help more than hinder. You--and all the others--have my sincere apologies if answering us has added to your tasks in an excessive way. For my part, I'm fairly self-sufficient once I begin things.

As of the current roster, non-humans make up roughly %20 of the Lost Soul contractees within the Department.

As a note, the percentage of humans working within the Department as a whole, however, is much much lower than that.
