I feel like it's pretty easy to work out if you solve the hints, though?

Well I already know the answer since I made the puzzle, so that'd hardly be fair!

Your hints are hardly fair either. Though not once did I say that I was looking for the answer, did I?

Hm? What's not fair about them? I thought they were easier to solve than the actual puzzle.

The unfairness comes in assuming that we all have the same math level as you. As you can see, most people's knowledge of math seems to be rudimentary at best.

I didn't think it was that hard... I thought there'd be enough people who could do it that people could team up with.

Well, you can use it as a gauge for whenever you try again. I don't think the concept was bad, it's simply the execution that needs some work.

So you think it's a good idea, it just needs to be easier next time?

Or attempt something else. It may be that many aren't too knowledgeable on advanced math and computer science. Word puzzles and riddles are a bit more common. Scavenger hunts are more interactive.

It doesn't mean that you have to do either of these, of course. They're merely examples.

Hm... Well, I guess I could just do riddles without ciphering them? I'd thought that would be too easy.

I wouldn't know how to do something more hands-on, personally.

There's letter ciphers too. It's all a matter of trying them out and seeing what sticks and what doesn't.

That's true! Even if people didn't like this one, if I keep trying different things eventually I'll find the right sort of puzzle for everyone!

I guess so? If nothing else I do feel like I'm good at them. That's why I thought it was something I could do to help everyone.

I don’t see how the logic tracks, but maybe our world views are too different.

How can this help others?

Working to solve a problem with another person helps you grow closer together, don't you think? You're both trying to arrive at the same point, so your minds have to be connected.

It may not always work that way, but when it does it can truly be something one-of-a-kind.

Aah. Being able to really see eye to eye with someone is pretty rare, I think. But it's worth it.

Even if it's for just a moment I think it's worth chasing after.

However, as the maker of the puzzle, does that not take away the ability for you to connect with someone else? Or are you perhaps looking for someone to see what you see, by giving out a puzzle built around something that you are skilled in?
