[ It really does seem like he chickened out. There's no one else in sight -- it's a pretty quiet night on the river. He wants her to be at ease and think she's already won because he has a trump card up his sleeve.

The shadows shift and an odd shape appears in them...which charges right at her. It's Izō with his sword raised above his head, bringing it down in an overhead strike. ]

[Even on high alert as she was, it still startles her, if only barely. Manipulating shadows was pretty common monster fare, but the sword was unexpected. The time it takes to bring it down gives her just enough of an opening to react, and she ducks down and slides...underneath him?? The perks of being tiny, one supposes.

As she rises on the other side, she draws her gun from her basket and presses it firmly against his back. A quiet warning.]

Huu. About time you showed yourself. Not very nice to sneak up on a lady, you know~
