An Update has just been installed, welcome to EMBER 3.1!

BUGFIXES & UPDATES
-Increased stability and quicker performance.
-Improved accuracy of [various] data tracking.
-EMBER Go! increase in spawn points throughout the city.
-WARNING added; "If USERS trespass upon any part of the city they are not allowed in order to collect characters, do be quick about it.
(EMBER is not liable for injury nor legal troubles which may be incurred.)"

-Helper NPC: YDRIS, added to help users within EMBER, Go!
-YDRIS can be set to automatically feed and pamper collected "Little Lost Souls™".
(This feature costs Dragon Coins at an hourly rate.)

-CAPTCHA Temporarily disabled.

Well, that sounds... disappointing.]

The pretext of the app is a detriment to its stated purpose. I don't see why anybody would leave their selection of enemies OR intimate partners to some mechanical process and a photograph. It's completely inane.

You would be correct for those with serious intent. I can't imagine that most people truly believe they can find a partner that would fulfill either role through employing this app. Of course, I could be wrong. Then certainly it is rather inane. I imagine that people can use any photograph, even go as far as to enhance their appearance or fabricate an image. In fact, one can make a whole fictional profile. I've done it.

[That was true, of course, and Azula hadn't really considered it much- mostly because she sees little difference between that and the perfectly mundane false face that everybody shows the world, all the time, whether in person or on these digital devices.

I think you underestimate how vapid most people can be. Many people really do make it too easy, make a spectacle of themselves, and lap up the attention that comes.

[ It's small, but the only difference to be found here is that people can fabricate much more outlandish personas than they can in person. After all, appearance can't be drastically changed, nor can mannerisms be easily morphed. Or at least, that's the case for most. ]

Then I presume you plan to delete this application now that you've had your fill of it?

I may. Or I may simply attempt to find some means of making it work to my advantage despite its obvious detriments. I haven't yet made up my mind.
