Ah! Yessir! You as well!!
[ okay. not the greatest start, but at least it's something. she forces herself to relax as he straightens up, and though she's still a bit flushed she at least manages to look mostly in control. ]
Well, ah... I didn't really have anywhere specific in mind, to be honest. [ she chuckles, scratching at the back of her neck. ] Sometimes you just feel like walking, y'know? Besides, I don't usually stick on the ground floor, so...
[ her smiles is surprisingly genuine, for someone so incapable of any sort of verbal sincerity. instead of figuring out more words, she slides in next to him - one hand slipping into the crook of his arm from behind, the other reaching up to rest on a bicep. ]
How about it? Wanna explore together?

( he doesn't sound like he has any problems with that--in fact, it works well enough for him. it means he doesn't have to pretend like he has any idea where they're going or where the walk might take them; instead he waits, patiently, for her arm to link in with his, and once secure, he gives a soft nod, as though announcing that they'll be moving together.
--although, even as he pivots them onto what could be considered the walkway that winds itself up around near all the businesses in the distance, he swings his gaze to look at her, like he's realized something peculiar. )
'Don't usually stick on the ground floor'... ( he repeats it thoughtfully--and in this, at least, his loud voice has taken a calmer volume, still robust and warm. ) You do not often walk, is it? You are capable of other things?
( it wouldn't be entirely shocking, although he doesn't know a damn thing about vampires--has never heard of them since meeting her, truly. as his gaze focuses on her, he realizes, abruptly, that he's staring more than usual; slowly, his eyes slide back to focus on the path that they're walking.
the buildings are beautiful, at least. they remind him, vaguely, of home, of somewhere lively and bright, the lanterned roofs of the entertainment district. it's that thought that has him wondering aloud, thoughtful and calm: )
They might serve good tea around here...

there's always something new. the night is so grand, intoxicating in the freedom it offers, and for all she claims to know it she's only seen such a tiny part of it. ]
You got it, boss. Or, well. I used to be that good, at least. The skies were fair game before I came here. [ she chuckles, pointing to a nearby rooftop - barely a story up off the ground. ] Now? I can barely clear something like that, and I'll fall like a rock if I don't grab on.
[ she doesn't sound too upset about it. she's definitely not happy about it, don't get her wrong! but walking around a place like this has its own charms, you know? and like this, with a sweet guy stealing looks at her - a bit overenthusiastic, sure, a bit inexperienced, but all the cuter for his quirks - is it really so wrong to sit back and enjoy the moment? ]
Probably, yeah. Better than [ she looks from one side of the street to the other, admiring the signs and scenery around them. ] We're not far off from the Mizukume, you know? Most of this is Tamamo territory. If you're the kind of guy that shells out for the good stuff, this is where to go.
[ she's never been that kind of girl, of course. the cheaper the better, as far as she's concerned. ]
You a tea guy, then? Kyojuro Rengoku.
so sorry for the wait on this!
a pretty girl who, apparently, could fly before: but it isn't surprising, and if he thinks about it, there are plenty of seemingly superhuman things he could accomplish too, before arriving here. it's a private, warm sort of smile that blossoms on his face; his gaze slides to her, once, before he nods again. affirming within himself. )
I am more a tea guy than I am a liquor guy. ( there's no change in his voice, no change in his expression--but his eyes flicker, a brief glance towards the ground, like one small happenstance of weakness before he pushes it aside. ) Yes! Perhaps we try one of these smaller establishments? One of these houses, and then continue our walk after?
( in truth, they're more akin to a pleasure house, if he's reading the slogans correctly as they move along the street: the sort with an open bar and private tatami rooms, one where the server stays to sit and 'entertain', but there's a small, sloping grin on his face as he nods them forward again, gesturing out with his free hand towards one in particular. truthfully? it's these sorts of places that will have something delicious for them, cheap but satisfying; he's not the type to turn his nose up at anything delicious, and arriving together means they'll likely be left alone.
his brows lift, a small tease, as he looks back at her and comes to a short stop--there's the sound of faint music, past the sliding doors of the establishment in front of them, where a sloping curtain over the threshold announces they have rice wine and other liquor. )
If you do not mind being alone with me, that is. Nanakusa Nazuna.
( he likes the way she says his name--so he echoes hers back all the same. )
i should be the one apologizing for missing a WHOLE SENTENCE in my last tag lmsdf
her own grin is lazier than his, but no less genuine for it. she's happy to be here in this moment. ]
One of these? My, so bold! [ but her teasing holds no real weight behind it, no real assumptions of intent one way or the other. if he wants to share tea and drink, they can share those; if it's other things he's looking for, they can figure that out when they come to it. ] ...most people wouldn't trust a bloodsucker, you know. If you're willing to offer that, guess the least I can do is to return it, right?
[ is he- teasing her, repeating her name like that? she honestly can't tell. either he's teasing her with a smile on his face, or he genuinely likes the way she's called his name so far tonight, and either way it's a bit endearing. she chuckles, shaking her head with a fanged grin. ]
That means yeah, if it wasn't clear. I don't mind one bit.
shhh no apologies necessary
( --and yet there's a humor to his voice, as he says it. he doesn't miss the glint of her fangs, when she smiles, although such a thing comes secondary to noticing other parts of her. the way that her hair moves in the slight breeze, or what her eyes look like in the dark: these are the things that his own gaze grabs onto first, filling in all the details. she doesn't smell like a demon, doesn't have that feeling to her, and maybe that means his guard is down, a little, maybe that means he's a little more accepting.
or maybe he doesn't trust her. the slight shine of his gaze seems to say otherwise: that he's teasing her, as he leads her forward, gallantly, to the sliding door of the pleasure house.
his head bows to escape the brush of the curtain, and once inside, they're hit with a wave of warmth, music, and the sound of dishes and laughter; a chorus of welcome! sings from the bartender and the girls lounging about, and two of them come to greet them where they stand just shy of the door. instinctively, or perhaps out of a gentlemanly desire to keep her close, kyojuro draws nazuna closer to his side. )
A private room! ( he announces to the server girl that drapes over his free shoulder, cutely drawling at him to ask what he's after. he seems entirely unaffected: his eyes are still their usual, owlish and round, and the girl takes one look at nazuna and then seems to think better of arguing. instead, she offers to lead them down the hall; kyojuro follows after with his precious cargo still attached to his arm. he imagines they'll just slip in together... )
...Unless you want her to join us, Nanakusa Nazuna. ( there's a tease, as they come to a stop just outside a private tatami room with the server girl who has guided them: they should shed their shoes here, likely, but kyojuro waits, amused, his gaze rounding on nazuna instead to see if she's content with being alone with him. ) I'll let you know that I can serve you much better, however.

[ but with the energy to her voice, the way she laughs raucous and loud afterward - it's clear she never had any such intent in the first place. she stands straight as he bows, looking around the place with some wide-eyed wonder of her own. she's been in bars, of course, izakaya and akachouchin aplenty, but a pleasure house like this is a new experience entirely.
something new about the night - how exciting! for the first time in a while, she's experiencing her domain with fresh eyes. ]
Oh? Alone in a room with a handsome man waiting on me? [ she's teasing right back, yes, but not with the words themselves; this is play, not mockery. she wouldn't call him handsome if she didn't find him handsome, after all. ] Very well! I'll leave myself in your care, then.
[ she leans against his arm, grinning wide. ]
Do be gentle with me, won'tcha?
