But if he's already seen it once before, then it's not exactly fair for him to see it all over again. Even though she can't quite understand how such a thing could be possible.]
no. the last i recall we were still in viscint. at least i was. we let kelzalik go.
[And there was talk of dreams. Of coexistence. A dream that belonged to her brother and to her. A dream that she believed in whole and hale of heart.]

[It's an inexplicable situation, so much so that for a little while, he doesn't even know what else to say. How is it possible that he remembers that, and she doesn't? After the horrors they saw in Niez, after everything it took to finally chase down Almeidrea...why is it that the last thing she remembers is that?
... And here he is, making her talk about it again. Probably bringing it fresh into her mind. He can't imagine how terrible that must feel.]
i'm sorry, kisara. i'm just trying to figure out how this could be possible

She’d love nothing more than to be rid of it.]
i don’t know how to explain it. i don’t even know that i can. i do know what i saw and what i heard. it’s true that there was talk about mahag saar. kelzalik spoke of another lord to serve in place of dohalim. but it was a little after that, that i left.
[After talks of dreams that Kisara feels she simply couldn’t stomach. Dreams she believed in whole and hale of heart, only left wondering how she could have been so blind and foolishly naive.]

But whatever is going on here, it doesn't seem like there's a lapse of memory. She's perfectly clear about the last thing she remembers, so...there must be something more going on.]
i don't think i can, either. but i wonder if maybe someone who's been here longer has heard about this kind of thing happening...i'll have to ask around a bit
no subject
[If she asks, she's just making him relive it. Much in the way this conversation has made her relive what she's only recently gone through. What they've all recently gone through.]
i didn't know it was possible to be so separated by time, though. i guess it's important to have that figured out in case anyone else from dahna shows up here.
[...Maybe for their sake, she hopes they won't. There's stability and familiarity in having Alphen here, but wouldn't he be happier back home? At the same time, the more selfish side of her is thankful to have him. Because at least then she isn't alone.
She has to wonder how well she'd handle solitude, in light of all that's happened.]

[But even if there's nothing he can do about it, at least figuring out why is a step, right? Or does it even matter that much?]
... you know, it's funny. i miss our friends, but i'm not sure i'd be happy to see them here, with how rough this place has been so far
[Not that they can't take care of themselves, of course. But they have more important things to do at home.]

i agree with you. it's better that the others aren't here.
[And not just because she would be awkward as hell around Dohalim either, though that is a distinct likelihood, all things considered.]
that said, i'm not above admitting that at least you're here. i could handle things here fine without you, but the familiarity is nice, given that there's nothing else here really familiar to me.
[Except maybe the disorganised mess that Enma seems to be when it comes to where their priorities are and where Kisara feels they ought to be.]
