Food and drink, fancily dressed women... Festivals are the perfect chance for pillaging!
[Believe it or not, Ibaraki is actually taking her time to dress up for this.]
Umu! Yes, do take care none of you fall in the path of my enjoyment this evening. And if you do then be sure to entertain me properly. There's nothing more dangerous than a bored oni after all~!
[ooc: Want to plan something out? Feel free to contact me via pm, discord: billbill#6387, or plurk: mr_cynicalperson!]

Shuten wants to hear her say it? Speak something so embarrassing out loud???]
She... she beat me! Okay!? Grr...
[Excuse her as she hides her face now. Kay thanks!]
She won a bet... and now I'm to wear this.
[Ah...! She should just take it off! Weasel her way out of it somehow! More blushing ensues!]
Muh... stupid celestial and her stupid magic overalls!
[And her own hubris for thinking she could collar and leash her instead! She should have known something was up!]
Next time... next time I'll... Hmmph!

shuten watches ibaraki fumble with her humiliation on the other end, and she's almost jealous that this mysterious girl rendered her to such a state. good thing ibaraki is still so animated, and she can drink it all in from here.
on her end, she tries not to laugh, or even to smile. her tempered frown remains in place, suspended on a lingering thought. ]
... Ibaraki.
[ here it comes. ]
2/2
I had no idea you had found someone you liked so much here.

The idea of Shuten getting jealous over her, instead of the other way around, made Ibaraki's heart pound out of her chest.
And then there's that smile. That pointed observation. It made Ibaraki's heart nearly stop.
Ah... ah-! Shuten's smile! Her beautiful smile! The fiery oni could feel herself turn to jelly over it.]
I don't like them! Not one bit at all! They're just... kind of pretty. But stupidly annoying and frustrating, and constantly trying to one up me!
She even had the gull to challenge me to a drinking contest! And then there was...!
[Huff... huff...! Even more of your daily Ibaraki adventures for your pleasure, Shuten.]

[ she had meant it a shot in the dark, an arrow to a bullseye a hundred meters to the left. but ... she was ... close? ]
Such passion. I think the last time I saw you this way was ...
[ time to let loose another— ]
... with Tsuna, no? You're making me a little jealous.

And then she went and said that name. It made Ibaraki shift in a mixture of irritation, flustered emotions, embarassement.]
That's... that person is a different matter.
[Shifty eyes glance away from the screen. As angry as she is over the mention of the person that had cut her arm off and took it for a trophy (who does that!?). Ibaraki's emotions are all colliding with one another now, leaving her a blushing mess.]
W-wait... you're jealous?
[GASP!! This should really be considered a skill of Shuten.]
no subject
Well, it's just that you let her embarrass you so easily... And she seems to have distracted you from something important. Hm?
[ a little needling, too. ]
no subject
[Go ahead and continue to watch her squirm~.]
Much less distract me from anything important!
[She has, in fact, been distracted. She has very obviously been distracted.]

[ tilt of her head, then, the gleam in her eye a sudden serious level of sharpness rather than the impish twinkle it had not but a moment ago. ]
I wonder if anything interesting happened at the end of the party, then...? Do you know?
no subject
Mm... of course! Something interesting always happens.
[Always... now think.... Does she know?]
There was something about some wolf...
[Probably about as close as she was going to get, given that she was kind of preoccupied with something else and removed from the main events towards the end.]
no subject
See what I mean? All that playing around is going to get you into serious trouble one day, Ibaraki. ... Well, not that it hasn't already.
[ and now with that said: ]
Let's talk when you get home. Okay?
no subject
She really did miss something important!]
Sure. I'm almost back now, anyway.
[She's pooped after everything that happened and really could use their bed and/or couch now.]
➣ action.
[ it's late — early morning hours late, but shuten spent an iota of her usual party time actually mulling over the words shouted at the tail end of it, both in and out of the company of their dear clan leader, and where she would usually be thrumming from the energy of that indulgence, she's also tired.
it could wait, but she imagines ibaraki will join her in their near-nest of blankets and futon anyway. ]

[She entered the room softly, glancing down towards the bundle on the futon. Just as softly she pressed in to sit next to her partner. Shuten must be tired, of course so was Ibaraki. The night had been an eventful one. Even if the yellow oni had missed out on what was going on towards the tail end of it all.
Taking a moment longer to see just how awake Shuten is, before curling up next to her.]
Are you awake?
no subject
the room is lit by the stars and the moon, filtering through the quiet mess of their apartment. it's bright enough, especially for an oni, whose eyes catch the reflection of light easier than a human's.
shuten answers by rising to a propped up elbow, lifting the sheets for ibaraki to slide into. ]
Mhm. Did I seem that sleepy to you over the phone?
no subject
Catching herself as the other oni raised herself up, pushing the sheets aside to welcome Iba into the warm bundle, she did her best to hide the flustered feelings she currently felt.]
A little.
[Given the energetic nature of their surroundings, the usually languid Shuten wouldn't have surprised her if she had been tired. Then again, Shuten also always had her own form of energy about her. Add to it the usual, chaotic parties, the oni and their gang typically held long ago. And Ibaraki also wouldn't be surprised if Shuten could pull an all nighter of energetic partying.
Taking the opportunity, Ibaraki sinks into the sheets. Arm pressing around Shuten's form as she snuggles I'm against her.]
You sounded bothered... maybe curious.
no subject
it simmers beneath the surface, boiled down after the steam and heat of party-going dissipates away. her eyes narrow to a focused half-mast — soft and sharp all at once — as ibaraki wraps an arm around her and says that. her voice becomes a low rumble in her chest, a quiet purr between them as she responds. ]
Well, you're not wrong about that.
[ no use beating around the bush anymore, though, close as they are now. ]
Kaneguma made an appearance tonight.
no subject
It was that patience behind her strength and cunning which helped draw Ibaraki into her further. An added sort of stability for her to draw on. The other half of her, so to speak. It was also that very same demeanor that Shuten carried which allowed her to pick up on the obvious that Ibaraki missed out on.
Something she probably wouldn't care about until the name is dropped.]
Eh? That one is here too?
[Spoken, perhaps, just a tad too loud. Muffled only from her face pressing into Shuten's shoulder. Breathing in her wife's scent. Comforting just as the rest of her.]
Hmm- Toraguma... now Kaneguma....
[Hm... the wheels began to turn on Ibaraki's mind. There was also the way that fool Toraguma had spoken of Shuten. Maybe it was nothing but, perhaps, it might be something. Well, it most certainly is something if those two managed to wind themselves up down here in positions of repute.]
Umu... [She shifts herself slightly to look up towards Shuten's face, looking to see if, perchance, there might be answers there.]
-There's more then... of the others.
