just wondering something.
what year were you born and how old are you? i'm from 1983, and last i remember, it was 2001. there are people who are close in age but are from different years in the future, making me old relatively, and i hate this.
... am i old to you?
(nope, 1985. still, he's sad.)

[how do you explain what living in your own time period is like.]
I grew up in a traditional village far away from the capital, so it was pretty boring. Most men were fishermen, cultivating rice paddies, or rebuilding houses, and we went to the shrines a lot for events or festivals.
Westernization was much more prominent in the capital. Stronger buildings, paved roads, movie theaters and cafes, but certainly not electric lights and appliances like people have here. Though you have to deal with the eyesore of soldiers on every other corner, or in every cabin on the streetcar. It was 1922 before I ended up here.

I guess it shouldn't really surprise me that there were a lot of soldiers. People couldn't wait to pick a fight with each other when I was around and it's not like it was going to all just go away all of a sudden.
What village do you come from?

In the capital I was staying near a military research center. So rest assured, you didn't miss anything. They're still looking for a fight.
