Hello, everyone! I thought it'd be a good time to welcome in all our newest Alliance Lost Souls!

I'm Sakamoto Ryouma — but just Ryouma is fine! — and a lot of people around here know I'm a Lieutenant and a main point of contact for any business with the Alliance. If you need anything, you can always come to me, and I'll at least try and help you find what you're looking for.

That being said, you've got plenty of good people around here you can look to also! The rest of you aren't off the hook~!

My newest co-Lieutenant is Matoba Seiji. [ so feel free to bother him now too, haha! ] Emily Dyer will be acting as my second, and if you don't already know where the clinic is, you should familiarise yourself and help out a little!

You can also find your other seniors — Kim Kitsuragi, Yuri Leclerc, Xingqiu, Artemy Burakh, Cloud Strife, and Ydris — if you need anything!

You represent the Sutoku Alliance now, so keep that in mind! We don't really have much of a dress code or anything, but you should still get one of these pins, so people know what crew you're with.

[ he taps the pin on his jacket with the kanji for sutoku. aren't you relieved that the naval uniform isn't standard-issue attire? now everyone knows why he's rated four stars for COOLER HAT on EMBER. ]

We have 'em at Konoha and at plenty of other places, too, so just ask!

We're gonna have a get-together officially soon enough, but this is a good opportunity to get to know each other ahead of time! My advice to all of you is to learn as much as possible about this place and the people who live here, your fellow Lost Souls in the other factions included! Find something that interests you and dig right in! Always be paying attention because it's all in what you know.

I'm excited to say there will be a lotta interesting things going on around here soon enough, so I'll be counting on you all to do your best! Does your world also possess yokai and such similar monsters? Because many of the species here - tengu, kitsune, kappa - existed in my world, but only as folklore or in the realm of fantasy.

You are not a fan of the pins, are you? But wouldn't not wearing them be more detrimental?

The simple answer is yes. However, I am entirely unfamiliar with them as they do not reside within the nation I live in, further trade and travel to Inazuma was restricted for a long time. All I had was reading material to glean information from. I assume most of it held some truth.

There is nothing really worthwhile for me to say on the subject.

Fascinating... then I suppose coming here was just as much a shock to you as it was to me. While I may not be an expert, I am fairly knowledgable in the occult back in my own world. If there is anything that might confuse you or you need clarity on, I could offer my insight.

In a way, yet not entirely. Mostly what I had to adapt to was the culture and technology, well it was shocking to be here. How often do people suddenly find themselves in an entirely different realm after all? But otherwise, see the land I hail from had Rex Lapis, and there are the adepti.

It would be for the best. Although perhaps. Another time.

In my reality, not very often. Though there are books and other media where authors write of exactly such a thing happens... being transported to a fantastical realm is common in fiction, where I am from. Though, as for it actually happening, that is much less likely. The technology and culture are actually quite similar to my own world, though.

[As much as manga and anime from his world might explore isekai themes, it's not like people are getting transported to new worlds whenever they get hit by a bus or something.]

Rex Lapis and the adepti? Are those the gods you had mentioned before?

Hm. Yes, I may have heard of such tales but I do get the sense that there is a certain member of this publishing house that doesn't seem too fond of them. Well, it's a rumor floating around. Not here I mean. As for adjusting, it isn't too difficult, and getting acquainted with new information can be fun if you take the right approach.

Rex Lapis, the Geo Lord, was the god who presided over Liyue. The adepti were led by him and were hailed as guardians of our nation. So yes, but really in regards to our ruling archon.

I agree. Technology is not new to me, but dealing with demons is. It's rather fascinating to discover, as is learning about other worlds.

I see... so then Rex Lapis is a god, while the adepti are what my world would call kami; lesser gods, but still divine in nature. They must be a sight to behold.

Quite so. Although there are different experiences depending on the encounter. Some may not be so receptive to company. Well, it's a learning process, much like gaining knowledge about different worlds.

The Adepi, they're illuminated immortals. Most people can live their whole lives never encountering one.

I see. In my world what you call adepti we would call kami, though most are only spoken of in myth.

That's a fair deal, so it is agreed upon. Rest assured although I may lack in talent I am quite adept when it comes to studies so any knowledge you may want to impart upon me will be a lesson well learned. But if your interests are in the supernatural, specifically spirits, I might know someone who is far more knowledgeable in that field.
