Hiii everyone! Sorry to bother, but do any of you also like to draw?? This is a page from my sketchbook!

I think I'm running out of ideas, so I was hoping someone here would have suggestions on what to draw
or maybe how to find inspiration? I didn't have a lot of time to do anything artistic before so I'm a little new to this!!

A flower youkai?? That sounds so beautiful… There was a demon I didn’t get to speak to very much, but I heard her blood demon art made something like flowers appear? It was an illusion though, I think…

[ it was almost a little romantic —- especially if it wasn’t being used for bad purposes… plus, flower breathing was gorgeous, too! ]

Well there's spirits for just about anything out there. She definitely didn't do much illusions, though. She would make flowers appear everywhere until you were choking on them. [Literally]

I'm not actually youkai. I'm a celestial, but I get dumped among the youkai a lot back home when I annoy someone. It's much more interesting. And don't worry about it. I'm no good with artistic stuff myself, so it's nice to see someone who is.

A celestial…? I guess that makes sense! Why do you get dumped with youkai?

Hinanawi-san, if it’s okay to ask, what’s home like for you?? Is it similar at all to Jigoku-cho?

Yup. And I don't know. I must have messed up the festival or something. People always tell me I have the wrong attitude for heaven so they kick me down and I have fun with my friends.

[They aren't your friends, Tenshi. They're the youkai you constantly pick fights with and irritate because you've pissed off heaven enough to kick you out for a week.]

So... it's a lot like Jigoku, only there aren't as many youkai. A lot was lost before they fled behind the barrier. And it's more ... uh, modern? Yeah, that's the word. It's like hell never completely sealed off and all of the youkai were allowed to come in more slowly.

So it's similar, but not quite the same.

(OOC: I mostly do digital art of midling amateur quality comic pages of OCs of mine and others. Which reminds me that I'm behind on the latest pages. I'll have to get to it this weekend.)

Huh! I don't know about the attitude part, since you seem super nice to me ... but as long as you're having fun with your friends then I guess that's the important part? [ she's glad that tenshi isn't lonely!! ]

More modern? I can't imagine that!! Jigoku-cho is already so modern compared to where I'm from! There are so many new things to me here like this device!

Can i tell you a technology here that really shocked me, Hinanawi-san?

Pffft, they're all stuck up fuddy duddies trapped in their enlightenment. Of course I don't fit in well. [She laughed.] And oh, I meant that Jigoku is more modern than my Gensokyo, sorry to confuse.

What confused you? Me? It's the stupid phone more than anything.

(OOC: Bit of a story on that. I stubbornly refused to stop using prismacolors until my wrists started hurting and I was too frustrated with blending pens and techniques, I gave in and tried digital. I had to graduate from GIMP to Clip studio to start getting consistent lines and there's still some effects I do better with GIMP. I would not say it's easier or harder, but it's very very different.

And the truth is that I've never mastered artistic fundamentals, which is obvious in my background work, as perspective is never quite right and scenes tend to be 2-D as a result for simplicity. Digital and traditional media are each artforms in their own right, and their mastery is each difficult in different ways, with the entry always being a bit difficult.

Have you seen this place called, "The Arcade"?

I went there once when I was exploring, and they had a lot of lights and machines!!! One had a lot of cute toys, but they were difficult to get? And another had this box you could step in for pictures!!

It was really amazing!!

[ ooc: oooh that's fair!! tbh im ngl gimp isn't bad imo, but i understand the line struggle. did you ever take art classes? ngl i think digital is really difficult to learn and master so it's impressive when people can make things look good with it!! i saw that a lot of comic artists have tools to help them draw backgrounds fast now but i cant remember what it was all about : o ]

Oh, I've heard of that. I need to go there sometime! I'll bet I can beat that toy prize game!

(OOC: GIMP is better for special effects for me, like Fire and lightning. I could do a lot with it. Lines were easier using the parabolic arc functions of Clip Studio. And no, I never actually took classes, so it's all self study. I look into new tools when the mood suits me.)

I would love to go together!! We can take pictures too and get to take them home afterwards!

[All in all, it would be stupid fun all around, which was sort of the point of an arcade overall, or at least it was what Tenshi was bound to take away from it.]

(OOC: Yeah, and I really need to keep at it to not lose those skills. But either way, more art is always good!)
