Hello. I've been told of the dangers of giving my name and picture to a wide network before, please accept my username for now.

There has been a lot happen here, but one thing sticks in my mind in the quieter hours that I would rather it not. I'd like to hear about the experiences people have with leaving others behind. Good or bad. Here, home, or another world. I've tried writing letters. A new notebook since my old one is lost to me. The new one doesn't seem to feel the same way. I've tried late night work outs, jogs, odd jobs in the evening, wandering and what one gentleman called the "night life" which I still don't completely understand. I could go to the same places in the day. All in all, I'm out of ideas.

Hearing any way that you deal with those thoughts constructively is something I'd be thankful for.

my daily training helps. it's meditative, after all, allows me to refocus myself, and keep my heart still, even if only for a moment.

the other thing is understanding that even if i can't see it, there's still a horizon ahead of me, a goal to reach, a new level of experience to find. "keep your eye on the prize", as the saying goes.

Is it too personal to ask what you're training for?

Choose seeing them again as a long term goal. Which makes it my long term goal, even if I'm thinking more about them. I think that's what you may be saying, or maybe it's what I'm reading into it.

not personal at all! i'm a fencer! my journey is to push my sword beyond the state of nothingness!

and honestly, whatever the goal is, so long as you have something to reach for, you should be okay.

I knew a man who was a sword user. I don't understand what you mean by nothingness, though. What's beyond nothingness? Somethingness?

Now that I'm faced with the thought on it, I do have a few goals before a final goal. Nothing as interesting as swordsmanship.

nothingness itself is reaching the Void. a sword of Zero that exceeds the unequaled. it is a path that points to "only one answer". ten of thousands, hundreds of millions of "possibilities" exist. they are all verified, crushed, and stopped as if without meaning.

in other words, a "finite" sword that strives to reach only a single "correct answer". to shave one's existence away to the extremes until there is nothing left, and yet to cut everything until only "something" still remains. that is my "Zero"; a sword that establishes a "conclusion" that not even the gods can escape from.

i've reached that horizon. now i have to see what's beyond it.

[He's reading this, believing every word because he's heard even more outlandish claims that've been more than true. He's most certainly taking in every word even if he's a man of few, sometimes.]

Where I come from, a lot of people call that Plus Ultra. Yours sounds equally exciting. "Zero". The great equalizer. How are you going to know when you've reached the next plateau?

that's just the thing; i won't know until i get there.

but i know there's still more ahead. so my journey continues, no matter what.

You've set yourself an unending goal. I see what you mean, now. Even here, that's how you feel about it?

well it isn't just that. i also have someone i need to find again.

and i will find them.

but it's all part of the same journey, yanno?

I hope you find them, I really do. I thought I lost someone in my family, as well. When I get home, I'll bring them home too. What's your friend's name? People have a habit of showing up when we least expect it and if I see that name I'll be sure to tell you.

eh? no no, they're my Master as in i'm their Saber. i'm a Heroic Spirit. a Servant.

[This takes him a couple moments of reading to make sure he's understanding, but he's got the jist. Heroic anything also helps, spirit Shoto still mulls over.]

You fight with them as an extension of yourself using the weapon you've practiced. I think I understand. I've met other people in similar, but not the same situation.

tbh the whole system is really complicated and i suck at explaining it but you're not exactly wrong so we'll leave it at that.

but yeah, they're my Master. my place is at their side.

I'll admit I'm not sure what you mean by spirit but I'm also willing to accept what you say. No matter who they are, they're someone very special to you. That's what it comes to. Being a hero isn't easy, not for anyone or with anyone but it helps to fight for the people you want to protect the most. I will be vigilant in checking names I see.
