Hello everyone. Has anyone else set up safe… safe-ish… safer? -well, so-called “safe spots” outside faction headquarters?

I’ve been doing what I can to fortify my apartment building, and I’ve seen yokai take shelter here when they’re caught out by something. Perhaps it would help all of us to know the locations of potential shelters around the city? Or a sign that one’s nearby, like colored lights or a flag.

[A pause.]

I hope everyone’s doing okay. If anyone has something they can’t get off their mind… you could go on an anonymous account and say it. It might help. We’re here to listen.

What colour would be good? I was intending to let everyone suggest colours or patterns, honestly, I'm not too sure myself.

I'm thinking something very bright that will stand out in the gloom and made from a material that blood might not soak through and stain quite so easily. I believe the colors are called 'neon' and the material is called 'vinyl'? I'm afraid I'm still learning the proper names of things here.

As for a pattern, one that radiates hope and optimism that the current crisis will end soon to mark it as a safe place.

It's the same reason why I haven't put up a visitation log, though RL and being lazy are also big reasons for all of the above lol]

I’m not sure I have anything vinyl to make a banner out of in my apartment, but maybe there’s a tailor among us who can help produce these things. As for a symbol of hope… a sunrise? A flower bud? Ooh, those might be complicated to paint.

A star, perhaps, to remind us all that no matter how dark the night gets, there's still a guiding light to move us forward. It'd be simple enough to paint. If vinyl isn't available, any material available would do.

I believe there is a type of paint here that glows in the dark that could be useful. The shop I design garments for uses it on their fabrics sometimes but if those materials aren't available, just using whatever's lying around your space would suffice. It's better to do what you can during times like this than nothing at all during dark times such as this.

[He sighs a bit. Even if he has a bit of an edge when it comes to coping with nightmarish circumstances and dark, spiritual disturbances energy thanks to his training and the saber spirits his clan wields, he's not completely immune to the strain. He does know a thing or twenty about willpower and the power of persistence, though.]

Keeping busy and working productively, even in small ways, can lessen stress. If anyone knows how to meditate, now is the time to do it and teach the skill to others so they, too, can fortify themselves against the spiritual onslaught.
