To start, when you look into the sky and see a star, the actual visual information you're getting is almost unspeakably ancient. Light doesn't travel instantaneously across the mass of space, after all, but the cosmic radiation of energy that exists between celestial bodies, between the stars and everything else out there, that itself has tremendous power to sort of peer past the veil of time itself. After all, it exists in a state that's not dependent on our concepts of "past" and "future"
