Oh, I could talk for hours about some of them.

[they smile, smooth their hair back. think to all the people they've worked alongside in the past seven years.]

One of my good friends, Zeke, he was a lot of fun. He had a big heart and an even bigger sense of adventure. He was a little dumb, and I always liked teasing him for it, but he always bounced back and he was just so... happy all the time, so gung-ho that it felt like he brought up the energy of any room he walked into just by being there.

There's Yang, too... haha, I don't know how much I should say about her even in a semi-public post, you know?
I think maybe the safest thing to say is that she and I were in an on-again, off-again relationship for a very long time. If you've heard jokes about people being someone else's impulse control, Yang was the opposite of that for me. She just had this way about her...

[they stop. blush, however slightly.]

Um, right.
Then there was Jack-O. She was my roommate. She was... SO smart. And so much fun, and just... really energetic. But she also cared a lot about making the people around her comfortable.
She knew she could be a lot, so she just wanted to make our time as roommates together as comfortable as possible for me. It was nice. There weren't a lot of people who cared as much about making sure I had a safe place to just... exist, not the way that she did.

I worked with some really good people. And, I'm sorry, I know I'm talking in the past tense like they aren't there anymore.
It's really not as grave as that, I promise.
